Really I think the best way to write a poem for him is one that really comes from you and your husbands hearts. I mean, it doesn’t have to be really “good” writing or anything. I think it will be much more meaningful if it really captures the way you feel, you know? Try brainstorming a list of words that describe your love for him before writing the poem. Don’t forget, it doesn’t have to ryhme. Sometimes the best poem’s don’t rhyme- they’re just a bunch of words that really express something- they’re articulate.

Sent straight from Heaven came an Angel for me to love to hold, to rock & kiss goodnight to wrap my arms around real tight,

to cuddle & nuture & watch him play to kiss his boo boo’s all away to keep him safe & count all his toes to hold the tissue when he blows his nose

to laugh at his jokes to clap as he sings to tell him the joy in life that he brings to clean up his play doh & legos apart to pin up his drawings & tell him its art,

his first day of school & on bus all alone to hold back my tears as I walk back alone to applaude real hard, when he is in his first play to help him with his homework at the end of the day

to adore & cherish & watch him grow to guide and teach him in all that I know to see him through good times & help him through bad to share in his happiness & cry when hes sad

to hold him close & be by his side to watch him through life as my heart feels with pride to help him with decisions the best that I can to know that someday he’ll be a handsome young man!!
