No not really havent talked to them about this but I want to. Its just that im not sure how to convince my parents that im their daughter not their son. Also how can I tell my parents that I no longer want to go for a haircut at the salon until my hair grows longer?

Answer #2

That’s a tough one, but at some point, you have to be you even if your parents disaprove. At 16, it’s pretty tough for them to force you to do anything, but it’d be better if they accepted you as you are.

Have you ever discussed this with them? Are you sure you need to hide it?

Hi,

I know quite a few trans people who are leading happy and healthy lives. Many of them would have committed suicide if they were not allowed to be who they truly are. It’s a very confusing and difficult position for many people. Basically, your brain doesn’t match your body.

It will be hard to talk to your parents about it, but I think you should sit them down, and have research material already available for them. go to the local library and see if there are any books on the topic, and print out information from websites. People are scared of the unknown, so until you educate them, it will be hard for them to understand. Let them know it’s nothing they did wrong, and what they can do to help you.

Good luck.

Answer #4

If I were you I would just tell me parents. If they love you they will understand.
