This is an advice on Yahoo:
I have kept/bred wild mice, and I would not keep one with a pet mouse.
Please note, a wild mouse MUST have shelter. They will likely die of stress if they cannot hide. That being said, do not expect to see it very often. It takes a lot of time before it will even let you watch.
You can breed/keep a wild house mouse female with a pet house mouse male or a pet female with a wild male, BUT the wild mice may be too agressive for your pet mouse strain or pass infection(s). So, your pet mouse may get worms, bacteria, or viruses that a wild mice can carry. Yes, there are medicated diets you can use to deworm mice and antibiotics can be given. However, testing for worms, bacteria, and/or viruses is time consuming work. Which means, getting a vet or tec to do it is going to cost more money than all your mice are probably worth.

From what I've read so far, they would still be very wild :/
They are darned cute though. I had a tiny one live under my oven last winter for a few weeks. I tried to capture it so that I can release it outside, but it jumped straight out of my 14-inch bucket after staring at me for a few seconds -- scared the bejeezus outta me! It eventually just left on its own from the original hole it snuck in from.
I found a baby mouse in my trash can last night, his body is only like a inch and a half long. I think he had been trapped there for a couple of days cause he looked tired of trying to escape, and there was nothing in there for him to eat or drink, so I took compassion on him and gave him a cheerio, and to my surprize he took it right out of my fingers, not shy at all. So I took a bottle top and put water in it and gave it to him and a napkin to lay on and a empty cigarette box to hide in. I dunno if I will keep him, but I will wait til he's a little bigger til I let him go.

Can wild mice babies make good pets?
My kids and I have had hamsters, rats(not wild) and right now we have dwarf hamsters. I remember as a kid growing up in the country, I remember finding outside mice nests with newborn baby mice and my dad killing them
I was wondering if in finding...
a nest of baby mice(wild) and taken in and cared for, do they make good pets or can they carry diseases? Just wondering if this is something that would be safe to do?
