it depends on what state ur from and what their laws are..in IL no its not illegal and he could not be put in jail but in other states it is it depends on what ur age of consent is
chances are though ur parens are just upset cause well no parents are excited for the day they find ou t their daughter is no longer a vir*in and chances are they wont really do something
I highly doubt he could get into any trouble.
Statutory r*pe laws do vary from state to state, but usually someone can only get in trouble if there is more than a three or four year age difference. Otherwise, you could have an 18 year old get in trouble for sleeping with his 17 year old girlfriend even if she is only one week younger than he is, and that wouldn't make much sense!
So you can check your state's laws to be sure, but it sounds to me like your parents are just making empty threats.
