I was wondering if ebay was okay to shop online with. My mum thinks its bad because she claims that there are heaps of scammmers. But the thing is I really like the stuff. Please can you give me some advice on how to shop online?

my parents trust it. there was only one time when something happpened though.
you can trust ebay the website but not all sellers. in order to see if a seller is trustworthy you would most likely want to see there transaction history. like if the people who bought from them gave them good comments. and their star ranking. the higher amount of stars they have the better they are

I would trust it. The trick is reading EVERY detail on the page before ordering. There may be some hidden things and people don't take the time to read the whole thing and they end up getting ripped off. But if you read everything and its all normal, your good to order.

...and see, thats what happens when people don't pay enough attention to the buyer and all of the details on the page.

We paid very close attention to our purchase, and the seller had an excellent rating. We sent the payment and never rec'd or product. So tell me how that is not paying attention to the seller and everything on that page?

If you pay by Paypal, you have a degree of cover if goods dont arrive.

I have purchased 100's of items from e bay over the years and have only had a couple of problems in which Paypal refunded me.

There are some items that I would not buy off E bay such as mobile phones, computer consoles, jewelry, designer goods etc as these are some of the main areas that the scammers operate in but other than that, I have been fine.

E bay have millions of satisfied customers every month but human nature is that it will always be the people that had problems that (quite rightly) shout loudest. But that is not the experience of by the majority of users.

Lets be honest, if it was SO bad, NO ONE would ever use it and it would quickly go bankrupt.

Be careful what you do on there, but you probably could buy some of the stuff, but like I said be careful!

You can't entirely trust ebay. The sellers might post a picture of a better condition product (if that makes grammatical sense). My cousin bought a beanie kids teddy off ebay, and the seller informed buyers that it was in mint condition. It had a pretty big rip in the neck.

read their feedback.. and also pay them after you get the goods.. and if you dont get the item or somthing and you payed with paypal you get it back. it's really safe
