How to get the california girl style?

As seen on The Hills and Laguna Beach. Any suggestions on shopping, makeup, tanner, hair, clothes, attitude, anything to help me attain that Laguna style?

lol, well I can honestly tell you, I'm straight out of los angeles, california and NOBODY whos from there actually dresses like that, the shows are totally fake lol.. but anyway.. if you want that style I suggest you shop at places like pac sun and urban outfitters, get some nice jean shorts and a good pair of boot-cut acid wash jeans and just wear a lot of white, yellow, and light pink cute fitted tank tops. shirts from hollister and abercrombie that have CALIFORNIA written all over it is NOT cool. don't buy that kind of crap. makeup always has to be natural-looking. soft brown shadows with brown eyeliner and black mascara. light pink blush, also.

tanning is actually..not a big thing for the stereotypical california girl believe it or not. but if you want to be tan, absolutely NO ORANGE, you have to definitely natural looking.

the style is basically VERY laid back, natural and comfortable.
you're not even an actual 'california girl'.. so just be yourself and work the 'canada girl,' because it's what you are, don't be labeled as a poser. it's embarrassing..

Why try and be someone you see on T.V? The shows are so fake.
There are tons of stores to get nice clothes and such. Why change your attitude? You are who you are, be you, not someone you see on T.V. The people you see on those shows don't even have that attitude, its scripted.

if you like the look that they have then I say go for it. it doesn't mean that you are trying to be them or your not being yourself like some of these other people say. you just might be inspired by the fashion.
You can go to mtv. com where they have the hills and they have videos about the style. lauren even has her own clothing line.

lmao you guys are funny.personally I dont really like the california look as portrayed on tv and fake 'reality' shows but I do identify with its aspect of laid back and being care-free. my fave color is black but im a beach bum who likes being a lil tan and thinks it looks nice to be a lil tan. well I live in San Diego and I've never watched the hills. But everyone kinda wears like beach clothes and cute shorts and lacy shirts
