Will my birth control stop pregnancy?

so about 6 months ago I went to the dermetolagist to get some medicine for my acne, and she put me on 2 different medicines, one of them was birthcontrol. this certain type of birthcontrol helps acne and stuff. me and my boyfriend recently had sex for the first time and I just wanted to make sure for future reference that this birthcontrol would work like normal birth control? as in I wont get pregnant. like, I know that it is regular birth control but I also know that they make a lot of different birthcontrols and that they find the one that is best for you or whatever, but will this work still?

As long as you follow the information provided with the medication then you should be protected against pregnancy.

What type of BC is it and how long have you taken it?

You need to take the pills to your doctor to discuss this. The pills she gave you may have been just a weak dosage to help with your acne. A doctor needs to see the strength.
