You are so lucky that I have read books on this... lol
1. Connect everything to something you understand. association is the key to remembering things because 'hey, that reminds me'. lol.
2. -put everything in your own words
-make sure you revise everything you study within 24h or you loose more than half the info.
you naturally revise EVERYTHING you learn during the day as you sleep (sweet! I know) so if you don't fully understand ANYTHING, ask someone, or look it up.
3. -write examples
they help you visualise an event - I do this when I'm setting the table.
I think 'so I'm sitting at the table - PLACEMAT - pour the WATER into my GLASS, put a NAPKIN on my lap, pick up my KNIFE and FORK and start eating off my PLATE. After mains there's dessert. I get out my BOWL and SPOON and start.
that's a lot easier than
placemats
water
glass
napkin
knife
fork
plate
bowl
dessert spoon
...which is why situations and examples are sooo good for memorization.
that's a good start.
ALSO
-make sure you take breaks every half an hour or you get bored and turn off.
-don't study with the TV in front of you, or you family, because you cannot concentrate and it's so frustrating
-if your a chick wear perfume, when you are studying, and when you are going into the exam - don't wear it when you're not studying or examing - then you associate the scent
(if you're a guy use a different smelling deo)
-try not to have blocks of words it looks SO boring!
-use colour - highlighters, pencils and post-its
if you want to know more just give me a shout :D
luv rach
