I have two kids but I haven't heard of a special word for their first cry before.

THE WORD THAT COMES TO ME IS 'LIFE' !!.....DEFINATELY THE FIRST SIGN, BUT AN OFFICIAL WORD....NOT AWARE

I am not aware of any special medical word for a newborns first cry. I even searched the web. If anyone would know, it would be your OB/GYN or pediatrician. But from my experience, I would call it the most wonderful sound in the world! Not only from the 2 of my own, but for the 8 I have delivered! Brings a tear to my eye everytime!
