No. Then of course it would become a religion.

Lots of people dont understand what Atheism is. Its the anti-thesis of theism. Meaning, its against religions. Or the belief in NO religions.

Religions have symbols. Ergo... atheism would have none.

- almost true, but let me add:
Atheism as a philosophical view, is the position that either affirms the nonexistence of gods or rejects theism ~ encyclopedia quote

There are atheistic religions, such as my own - Buddhism

I think that has no bearing an whether or not atheism requires a symbol. It's a personal decision, in my opinion.

I don't think it's a good idea. Atheism is not a philosophy or an organization, it's just a lack of belief in deities. It's better to promote the ideas you embrace, such as possibly secular humanism, which has an apt symbol already.

There is one. Unsurprisingly, it's controversial.

Several symbols have been suggested over the years.

American Atheists use an atom symbol with an A at the nucleus.

An A in a circle in various styles has been suggested but this is similar to a symbol used by anarchists.

I like the mathematical null symbol. A circle with a slash through it.
