Are preachers causing damage to thei world?

Asked by eternallife 2 months ago, 10 answers.

I am a Christian and I preach my religion. My question are people like me causing damage to this word? If so I want to give you a chance to stop me from from preaching my religion. This is how you can do it. Talk to me and convince me that God does not...

exist and I will stop preaching. But there are some rules I would like you to follow:

1. Discuss with me only through funmail because I want one on one discussion.
2. No insulting mails
3. Only serious and sincere people need to mail me
4. Lead a discussion to its end. No disappearing in the middle.

Anyone who agree with these rules are welcome to discuss with me.

Wow. It never ceases to amaze me how egocentric some adults can be. First, you are assuming that your religion is not only the right religion, it's also the only religion. It's as if your brand of Christianity is the only one that believes in God. Why must one convince you that there is no God. Perhaps there is a God, you just are praying to the wrong one. Perhaps there's several gods, and once again, you're praying to the wrong one. Perhaps the higher power isnt the form you are conceptualizing, and it isnt 'God'. Second, you are assuming that all Christians must agree with you (or you would not have asked people to convince you there was no God). I'm sure not all Christians believe that you should preach your religion to those who are not interested in being converted to your version of the truth. Third, you'll have a discussion but only on your terms? Right. Perhaps when you have a cult of people following you around you can set terms, but otherwise, this is an advice site, and people can voice their opinions however they choose.

Oh and no I dont think you're causing damage to the world. Any more than slow drivers in the left lane are causing damage to the world. They're annoying as hell, but if you dont believe in what someone is saying, well it's like listening to gibberish. As long as preachers stick to preaching about religion and not politics, they cant do any harm.

wether you want to preach your religion or not is completely up to you
just know that its not a job
and that most people who dont want to belive in a god or who already do beleive in a god dont want to hear someone preaching there religion to them or trying to convince them its right and there wrong and they must join

Yes... because you go about it the wrong way.

***Talk to me and convince me that God does not exist and I will stop preaching.***

Eternallife - ***1. Discuss with me only through funmail because I want one on one discussion. ***

And why, may I ask the one on one discussion??? So you can bully an individual, without interference from any of us? Anyway how fair is it, you taking a 14yr old on
in private? I, for one can already see your goal – conversion!!! (which makes me nauseas only thinking of it) Like TY said, this is an Advice site and open
for discussion for all!

Here's a hypothetical:

IF you believe that those who have not heard of Christianity are judged on their own merits, and
IF you believe that those who are familiar with Christianity but decline to observe it are tortured in hell for all eternity, and
IF through your proselytizing you introduce some genuinely good people to your religion, and they decline to follow it,
THEN you have doomed them to eternal torture.

Therefore, you should not attempt to spread your own religion unless you can be 100% certain those you tell about it will choose to follow it.

I agree that this is an advice site. But this particular section many don't behave like this is an advice site. This site also allows a one on one discussion that is why it has provided funmail.

Most often what happens is person A asks a question and person B has a opinion about it. Person C has problem with B answer and then there is a long exchange of posts between the two while A is left wondering.

There are several reasons I would like to have a one on one discussion.

1. Many people accuse me of thrusting my religion down people who are not interested. I agree that it is unfair. That is why I want to speak only to those who are interested.

2. If I reply to any question everyone funnily assumes that I am speaking against them. So they poke their nose in unnecessarily thus taking the discussion somewhere else. So yes to avoid interference.

3. A one on one discussion is more focused.

I don't bully anyone. I discuss with anyone who is interested. A 14 year old chose to discuss with me. She was a great person and very focused.

Eternallife ***Talk to me and convince me that God does not exist and I will stop preaching***
***I discuss with anyone who is interested***

So your ultimate goal is to convert them and not really them convincing you that god do not exist???

***That is why I want to speak only to those who are interested.***

So... you only want to talk to people who are both (A) interested in religion, and (B)want to convince you that God doesn't exist?

And you seriously think... you'll get a response?

***If I reply to any question everyone funnily assumes that I am speaking against them.***

...everyone assumed, huh? Nice blanket statement.

We don't care enough to do that. It's pointless and we'll hear the same things that you always say on your forums. You'll just try and convince us in private...nice try buddy. I'm not buying it.
