Are pet rats cleaner than other rodents?

My dad wont let me get a pet rat because he thinks all they do is poop and pee all over the place. I used to own hamsters and I know they did. can someone please tell me if rats are cleaner than hamsters are

Rats are MUCH cleaner than hamsters -
I had hamsters growing up and they were always a mess, I now raise rats, rescuing them from unsafe homes. All my rats are litter trained so they don't poop all over the place, its not hard to litter train them at all. You just need to make sure you have a good sized cage and rats need to be kept in pairs.
