Anyone have a good onion soup recipe

I want to make onion soup for supper but I cant find my recipie book, anyone able to help me out?

Well, you need equal parts hot beef and chicken stock.

Cut the onions lyonnaise style and fry them in oil until they are golden brown and caramelized.

Add the stock and throw in a spice bag (cheescloth bag with bayleaf, thyme and crushed peppercorns).

Add salt and pepper to taste, simmer for about 30 minutes.

Top it off with a large crouton and grated Gruyere and toss under the broiler to gratinee.
