What are some effective ways to manage stress?

Comment for jester_x's profile Asked by thex13thxchild about 1 year ago, 10 answers.

Tried breathing,
walking away,
running,
etc...
only thing that seems to work for me is spending time with my cat the other furry friends of the house(I don't like calling them pets)
only issue is, as you all know, you can't take a pet to work or...

school.
Any suggestions on what else might work just as effively other than beating than really telling the person what you think of them hitting them upside the head with a brick?
Just wondering ^_^

This may sound really weird, but I used to HATE work so much because of a few of the girls I had to work with. Someone suggested getting a poptop -- something you can click or whatever, like the lid to Snapple bottles do it, and those Nantucket juice drinks (That are super yummy) and just carry it in your pocket and click it inside your pocket to distract yourself. I have also heard people do that when they're trying not to smoke or bite their nails, etc. Whatever works!
Good luck happy

Realize everything thats causing the stress and attack one problem at a time. Never take everything on at once because thats too much to handle.

Just start thinking more positively about yourself. For you, what matters is what you think, not what others think.

If they are harassing you then simply ignore them and go about your business comforted in the knowledge that you are superior to them and cannot be brought down by their feeble attempts.

I'm the same way. So I started to work at the Humane Society lol. Whenever I would get too stressed, I'd take a 10 minute break and go sit with the cats, or play with a dog.

Now, I work from home, often with my dog on my lap in the office happy

(I know this probably isn't much help, but you know you're not alone!)
