Can someone hep me with advanced equations?

what do u think :) Asked by latinagirl93 about 1 month ago, 1 answer.

I NEED help with my algebra hmwrk. can you help me with these? these are the only ones I cant do.

Advanced Equations

Be sure to follow the steps for solving equations given in the lesson. The steps are:
1. Distribute on each side of the equation....

2. Collect like terms on each side of the equation.
3. Get all the variables on one side of the equation by doing the opposite math operation.
4. Solve for the variable.

6x - 8 + 2x - 5 = 7 - 2x

9(x - 2) = 3(x + 2)

5(x + 4) = 7(x - 2)

7(5x + 2) = 6(6x + 1)

3(x + 6) - 2 = 4(x + 2) – 21

-2x - 18 = 6(1 - 2x) + 4x

19 - (2x + 3) = 2(x + 3) + x

I'll help with the first equation but try doing the rest on your own. so the first equation.
6x -8 +2x -5 = 7 -2x so first you focus on the left side. 6x -8 +2x -5

add the two numbers 6x + 2x = 8x
so now you have 8x -8 -5
and you add the single numbers. -8 + -5 = -13
so now you should have 8x -13 = the right side of the main equation.
8x -13 = 7 -2x
+2x ---(-2x) if a number is going from one side to the other the number becomes opposite. you should know this. just trying to give full understanding.

now you have
10x -13 = 7 now you wanna get rid of the single number.
-13 --- +13

10x = 20 divide 10 to have the x by itself. 20/10 =2

so x =2

this is what I came up with. and I highly doubt I'm wrong but if I am I am truely sorry. again I hope this helps with the other equations as well. :p
