What is a good pet that's cheap, you can hold, and is somewhat portable?

I love animals.. Im visiting at my Dads house right now, and I saw about three skinny, stray, new kittens surviving under a pine tree filled with garbage, abandoned by the Mom on my way to the gas station the other day..Soo it inspired me to get a pet (: I still gotta ask my Mom if its cool, but..Yeah. Im pretty sure shes gonna say its alright, soooo. I cant get a dog or cat. And definitely not farm animals. (Were gonna be moving soon) No birds or snakes either..or parakeets. I want something I can actually hold, you know. And I need something cheapish. BUT I was thinkin about getting a turtle, does anyone know how much they cost? I think itd be pretty awesome to have a turtle. If you have any other suggestions for a pet to get, feel free to tell me (:

guinepig

Answer #2

Hamsters are cheap pets and you can hold them once they get used to you and trust you. It’s fun making things for them and I think that they are great little pets.

Answer #3

Rabbit

Answer #4

Or a Chinchilla, they are soooo cute and soo soft. or… a ferret…

Answer #5

All these answers are good but travelling with any of them can really stress them out. It can cause wet tail and other sicknesses. Have fun w/ your new pet. btw first time pay up runs you about 200 dollars or so. I don’t suggest getting your pet from petco if u get it from the store. They are known for dying with in 3 days of getting them.

Answer #6

I was going to suggest that too. I know of a very elderly person who’s family gave her one. They decided against a cat because she uses a walker and cats can get under your feet. She absolutely loves it and the feeling is mutual from the ginepig’s standpoint.

Answer #7

hamster :)

Answer #8

Already have one

Answer #9

Im prolly gonna get the pet from a small pet store in town, they have been in buisness for as long as I can remember.

Answer #10

Ahhh! I just looked up what a chinchilla looks like. So far its between that and a turtle.

Answer #11

Yea my friend has a chinchilla and I fell in-love with it, It’s adorable! I couldn’t believe how soft it was either!!

Answer #12

Or even maybe a sugar glider.. but they may be a bit expensive, I’m not quite sure..

Answer #13

Or even maybe a sugar glider.. but they may be a bit expensive, I’m not quite sure.. But they are also soo adorable!

Answer #14

Some of them look kinda ugly, I think I like the Persian Angora ones a lot though. But most are pretty cute

Answer #15

Ooohh those are cute too. Yeah they seem like they might be a bit pricey though.

Answer #16

Those are the best when it comes to pets. Also leave it alone for 3 days after placing it in its cage and make sure to have cabbage and carrots in case it won’t drink from its water bottle.

Answer #17

I have a snake and she wasn’t expensive. Her terrerium was about 150 and its only like a dollor to two dollors to feed her. She is extreemly portable and you can definately hod her. I also have a ferret but the thing with them is that they smell and run out of energy really fast.

Answer #18

a hamster, a bunny, a rat, a trantula, a scorpian, any rodent reptile or insect except snakes ther expensive
