Yellowing of the skin can be caused from eating too much Vitamin A from carrots, pumpkins or other orange vegetables. The condition is called “carotenemia”. Another cause could be liver damage.

Answer #7

It’d probably be a good idea to see a doctor. They’ll tell you what’s going on. You can also ask them your question about how many calories you should be eating a day.

Answer #8

Do you have yellowing of the whites of your eyes? If not, then you don’t likely have jaundice due to liver failure. Usually, by the time a failing liver causes your skin to turn yellow, you’ve already been hospitalized for other symptoms.

It could be something as simple as blocked ducts in your gallbladder ( I say “simple” because of the treatment - not the problem, which can be dangerous if left untreated.

Other causes of yellow skin are diet, certain medications, hepatitis, or Gilbert’s syndrome (which is not dangerous). If this is a new problem for you, or it persists, definitely see your doctor.

Answer #9

Yellowing of the skin may be a symptom of hypothyroidism.

You should get a blood test by your doctor, SOON!
