Is my new xbox 360 overheating or just not charged?

I just got my xbox 360 today, and when i hooked it up it started to play and everything. but later on i noticed that the ring wasn't fully lit, only one fourth was. Was this because the battery pack takes time to charge or was it because it over heated?

no dude seriously the light only being a forth lit is because theres only one controller hooked in.. the light shows how many players there are.. like if theres 2 players then half the light will be lit and then if theres 3 players all but one will be lit.. and so on... get it?

wait. is the light red or green?

cuz if its red you better hope you have ur receipt. cuz that means its le broken.
