Xbox 360 headset troubles

hi there,

I have an xbox 360 headset. I can hear other people through it, but they cant hear me, mute isnt on. and I cant see any setting problems. I have plugged it in through the controller and flicked it on and off and on and reconnected the...

controller again and again. it just wont work

any idea's please?

they do that, I have had it happen to 2 mics now, I gave up and went to wireless. after my second one did, it is a break in the wires inside
