We must experience pain to truly appreciate pleasure. Of course we are speaking of emotional pain. Physical pain does not have to be felt to know that we feel physically good.

I'd rather feel pain, its all im use to. so if im feeling numb then im probably dead.

Pain lets you know you're hurt. If you didn't feel it, you wouldn't know you were hurt a lot of the time, and probably end up doing more damage, and possibly die as a result.
