Your body will adjust to any stresses put on it, so at some point you will stop losing weight. Also given the type of work you are doing you are probably going to gain some muscle (old folks are not always light weight) from having to lift them. This means your weight might not be changing, but your physical size will. Take some measurements to find out.
Personally I feel that short intense bursts are a great way to exercise. I would still try doing some light stuff 2-3 times a week, and moving up to something intense when you have the stamina for it. Send me an email if you would like to go into this more.

Work & exercise
Im working at an elderly nursing home and im constantly on my feet 4/5 and a half hours straight! I dont get a chance to sit except on my break because the clients are dependent on all aspects of physical care. I am on a diet to get fit so I dont get...
time to exercise because im extremely tired when I get back from work.
I've worked out that I roughly burn around 700-900 cals just by standing and doing a mix of light and heavy work without a break. can this be considered as exercise without doing additional exercise on my days off? and add it to my calories consumed/ calories burned chart or is that cheating? I mean I have lost 2lbs in a week and a half...it's not so bad lol
