Will malibu beach front property depreciate from the fire?

The fire in Malibu is a huge tragedy that has destroyed so much in such a beautiful beach area. What are the odds that land will be up for grabs at discount prices?

It is a tragedy, and while it's sad, you can't ignore the fact that life goes on. I'd bet that insurance money will help out a lot of the people involved (can't imagine rich folks without insurance, their financial advisors wouldn't let them do otherwise). So given the insurance bail out scenario, I don't think there will be any discount priced land or real estate in malibu as a result of the recent fire.
