Will giuliani help or hurt the republican party?

Whiteboard portrate Asked by filletofspam over 2 years ago, 3 answers.

Since 1980 no Republican president has been elected without the support of social conservatives (religious right). Rudi Giuliani has a long history of being pro-choice and many Replubicans threaten to vote 3rd party if Giuliani gets the Republican...

nomination.

Will Giuliani help the party by attracting more moderate voters or will he hurt it by alienating some of its base? If Hillary Clinton gets the Democratic nomination will social conservitives vote for Giuliani as the lesser evil or will they vote their conscience and vote for a pro-life 3rd party?

IMHO, It is very important to me that any candidate of any party I vote for have values (all the time - not just when they're convienent) and integrity - thus only a pro-life candidate will get my vote - if one is Catholic, it's in canon law one must vote pro-life.

I understand that there are people who will vote like amblessed.

My question is that from a purely number of votes point of view would Giuliani help the Republican party by bringing in moderate votes more than he would hurt the party by alienating voters like amblessed?
