Why wont my mp3 player let me watch videos?

I downloaded a few videos on my Walkman mp3 player, but it always says it's not on there. Why does it do that?

If it is just an MP3 player then it is only made for playing... Wait for it... Wait for it...MP3s!!! Gosh some people are stupid...
If it is actually supposed to be able to play videos, get a converter and make sure the videos are in the right format.
