Why won't my cat stay in?

katwoman Asked by katwoman 3 months ago, 3 answers.

My cat had a virus and his eye got infected. It formed a scab-like thing that covered his eye. Eventually it fell off & left his eye red. I treated him with oral antibiotics & eye drops that the vet gave me. Now his eye is a white color. I thought it was getting better but it isn't. I am taking him to the vet for that but the question I have is that he, no longer, wants to stay in. He comes in long enough to eat & then demands to go out. He stays gone for days. He's actually a stray but for a long time I let him eat & stay in if he wanted to. He was good at letting me know when he wanted out to pee. Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? Thanks, carol

When you take him into the vet for his eye...have them devote a little time to the other end...get him neutered...that's the number one way to keep a male cat home.

Here's an update on Toonces, my cat.

He went to the Vet. They did surgery and removed his eye. They said that it had goten infected from fighting another cat.

Toonces, also had a limp in one of his legs. The vet said that it was from fighting too and it wasn't broken.

They said that he had never been neutered so we had them go ahead and do that to cut down on the fights, and it would keep him from roaming the neighborhood and maybe getting hit ny a car. Also, he wouldn't be spraying to mark his territory.

They had to do additional surgery because one of his testicles was inside and it always looked like he just had one. That's why we didn't know if he had been neutered.

They treated him for any fleas he may have had and clipped his nails. (not declawed).

He had a Rabies shot.

He is back home and doing well and is such a trooper.

Note: We are looking for any organization that might help with his Vet bill. Thnx
