Why is it odd I am still good friends with my ex g/f?

There’s a pretty sharp line dividing people about this issue. Some people think it’s odd to remain friends with exes because they feel there will always be an underlying current of ‘more than friends’ intimacy underlying the friendship which could rear up at unexpected times. Other people, like yourself and myself, find it rather ridiculous to throw away years of bonding and intellectual/emotional intimacy just because you aren’t in love anymore.
