Why am I called emo?

Well here it is. Mii friends, cousins, bro and sis call me emo cuase I wear black, I want 2 wear tight jeans, mii hair is like kinda in front of mii face and eyes (cause I have side bangs), I listen to rock, scremo, and emo bands, and they say I "look or act" depressed! What the heck! I am not depressed. Its not I hate emos or anything, I personally think that emos are awesome and cool! please help!

If you are comfortable how you dress and act stick with it. But if you are looking for a change in style go for it. See what happens if you add a little color to your woredrobe and it doesn't have to be pink either. If you want some skinny jeans wear a pair. Pull your hair in a ponytail, swing your bangs to the other side, or add some color.
Don't let what other people say get you down.

well. personally, I dont try to do this, but I think I judge people from what they wear. I automatically assume somebody is emo if they wear black all the time. but I wear black all the time because its my fave color. nobody calls me emo. try to seem a little happier. if you normally frown, try to smile a little. you dont even have to actually smile. you just have to have anything BUT a frown. and if you have bangs that go in your eyes, people will think you're emo. so dont let it hang in your eyes. skinny jeans are usually what emo people wear. I would wear tight jeans that go out at the end but if you love skinny jeans, wear them!! the type of music doesnt make you an emo, you just like loud music. dont listen to anybody when they say you're emo. its just because of what you're wearing that day that makes you seem emo for a sec.

I was like that last year...people called me emo too but mainly because I wore black, I mean tons of people wear black and theres nothing wrong with it but I just decided w/e I have my friends and thats all I need and stuff so who cares what all the preps think just be yourself and ull be happier because ull find people who like you for you and you can just be yourself around them...my family thought I was kinda*emo* too and they finally got over it but now that im nothing really I still listen to heavy rock music and emo music and stuff because I like it...so just go with what you like

and every emo a cutter
emo is also used as an insualt. it makes those idiots feel bigger and better about themselves
so pay no attention to people who call you names
theyll move on once they find a new fad to crap on about

Why don't you want some color in your life? And be more open minded to other types of music.

One thing I never got was why people even label people . I used to call myself scene about a year ago, && it was one of the stupidest thing I ever done . && I wasent even ' scene ' , I got called a poser a couple of times because I used to say it all the time . Thab I grew up , got mature , and did my hair how I like it ,even tho im still labeled ' scene ' , I dont listen to them , im done with their pathetic little labels && you should be too . I rather be hated for who I am , than loved for who im not. My suggestion is , dont cut yourself , that only makes people think your pathetic attention wh***. Do your hair . like its your personality && express your self .
