Why don't people like intelligent conversations?

every time I meet someone everything is all cool but when I start talking about things that require intellectual stimulation they sort of become distant and un-interested. I try my hardest not to be one of those downer dudes, always talking about depressing stuff. I just like to talk about everything. what turns you peeps off.

well it depends on if your the type that likes to ramble or pick a subject to talk about that knowone would ever know the answer to . I used to find myself in the same situations in school untill I started hanging out with a group of people like me.

You may need to talk with a counsellor if you are noticing a pattern here. Are you just not finding the people who share your interests? Do you talk about ..lets say football to people who only like hockey? Do you talk about food to people who are watching their weight? The common denominator is you and it seems that you need to find different friends who enjoy what you do and enjoy talking about it. Even the most unintelligent person can hold a great conversation when they are talking abut something they like.

thanks for the response, it seems like everyone likes to talk about the same old boring stuff though, thats what I am talking about. football, chicks, guys, only things their dumb closed minds are confined to. I dont think I ramble on about certain things that cant possibly be answered too.. I just like to hear other peoples opinions. even the dumbest peeps have sparked thoughts in my head with something they said are whatever. and I am concious about talking about overweight people to an overweight person ect. I try my hardest to keep someones interest. I think I should find some people that share my own interests but everyone I run into is all the same in that aspect, what about the different people that stray from the pack. anyone..

Well I find myself in a group that likes to talk about the current news on tv we talk about history and so while other people in our group are doin the same old blah blah blah about boys, chicks, football an so on we find ourselfs alienated from our group but its all good..Its too bad your not in our group I bet you would have found us to be the right people for you.
