Why does sometimes a question get "locked" ?

just curious as to why a question gets locked does it only allow so many answers/pages till it automatically does that?

No, questions are usually locked for a couple of reasons, mainly because they go off topic or get argumentative/rude

Sometimes they also get locked when they violate terms of use.I saw a disgusting question on here earlier today that got locked.And the person got deleted.Thank goodness.

lol, your welcome... and we usually delete questions that break terms of use (unless we're waiting on an admin decision or the admin decide not to...)

A question gets locked due to being inappropriate.
It violates the terms of use. As far as the pages, I don't think they lock the questions because of that.
