Because I have medical experience, I would say get it checked out as soon as possible. Sharp pains in your knee is not a good or normal thing, and there could be a number of reasons as to why it's happening. Go and see a doctor, because it could be something worse than it seems, or it could develop into something bad.
But it could also be something common, you never know.

Why does my knee hurt?
When im at my locker at school and kneeling and getting books I will have this really sharp pain in my knee. It only hurts for about 10 seconds and goes away. And I can walk find its only if I kneel wrong it hurts. It does hurt every time im on my knees....
What do you think it is/what do you think I should do about it/ what would the doctor do?? Should I c a doc?
