Why do people persecute wiccans?

hi, im 13 and im in the wicca religion, and everyone at my school either calls me witchb*tch, or stupid wacko. or they say, wicca isnt a religion, its not even real, cause magic isnt real. why cant they just eccept that everyone if different and is...

They are small minded hun, I used to have the same problem, people would say "can you make this pencil float"... that shows how stupid they are. But everyone is entitled to their own belief. Just try not to let it get you down. You believe a very worldwide religion and is heard of in many places so keep your head high and be proud.

I went through all this too, but I did not let it get to me. Sometimes it's best to just not tell everyone about it. That way, they won't persecute you. But if you don't feel you want to hide it, then just explain to them that Wicca is not only about magick, and tell them about some of the things that makes Wicca special to you. Make sure you let them know that Wicca is NOT evil, and has nothing at all to do with Satan or doing his work. This is a common misperception that a lot of people have. Wicca is recognized as a real religion by governments in the US and Canada. Explain some of the important things about Wicca, such as the Wiccan Rede (see the pic at the right). If they will listen, maybe you can change a few people's minds about it.

Hey, don't worry about them. You are intitled to your own beliefs and persective. I'm Christian but I do believe that everyone should believe in what they want to and not let other people's opinions have any affect on them. Do and believe in what you wish to and try to make others understand and if they aren't willing to listen then there not worth your time and there comments shoudn't be worth anything either.

well, heeling, like herbs ect, and crystals, candels and stuff, there are wands but they have a crystal on the end and are made of wood or metle. not these bits of plastic in the harry potter movies.

well, its sorta, the heeling spirit, angel and tarrot chards for the futer, and the devine god and godess, and crystals

take it from someone who's been there, people are frightened by the unfamiliar. just trust that the Goddess will help you through this. people just can't accept the fact that we all believe different things. I can personally promise you that it will die down. eventually, something else will happen and they'll move on. be strong.

hun there is a protection spell like thing you can do it is about raising you energy levels then think of a blue amour seround you or image your standing abouve a blue caldron and the contents spilling over u it does not harm you and only leaves them with a warm burn feelings if they say anything rude or demining. this is a last resort.
