Why do I have a bad smelling odor in my urine?

last yr I had a lil problem with a bladder infection but I now I havent had tat problem for 9 months but I did notice a bad smelling odur in my urine still lingering around ..somedays the smell is not even there and other days is very stronge and noticable ..I've heard tat to much suger in your urine and or caffineated drinks isnt good for your bladder soo I've been avoiding pop and other drinks all I've been drinking is milk water and fruit juicies like cranberry juice orange juices or fruit blends. im also trying to eat a lot of fruit as snacks instead of sugery snacks
pple think I may have a uti, std v*ginal infection

I do noe I have no STD since I havent had any s*x in the my life time and im 20 I dont have any signs of syphilis gonorrhea or chlymedia gential warts scabies or herpes
for the uti I have no symptoms of burning during urination, urinating more frequently, having the feeling to go pee and not being able to, having cloudy urine, finding blood in my urine, feeling unwell or having a fever.

the only thing im thinking of now is v*ginal infection ( yeast infection) but I have no itchyness down there I do get a BIT of disharge and sumtimes its white and some times has a bit or a greenish yellow to it

can some one help me if no one has an idea of what it can be ill book a docters appointment and get it checked out

Nessa, I advise you to visit your GP, and perhaps it would be beneficial for you to bring a recent sample of your urine for him/her to examine. There are many possible causes of this smell (eg; have you been on the Atkins diet?), but your doctor will be able to give you a far better answer to you question than we at FunAdvice will.

This could be merely a food thing. Certain iron-rich foods like asparagus tend to make the urine smell more potent. Try doing a flush by drinking a lot of gatorade, cranberry juice, and water. Don't eat until you have to urinate.

Also, drinking less water can make the urine darker and more concentrated in smell. Make sure you are getting enough water throughout the day.

On funguy's lst post, I'd suggest avoiding the Gatorade, due to the danger of harming your teeth. Other than that, I'd follow his advice, but do visit your GP soon, just to be certain.

you need to drink lot of Craneberry juice and buy AZO standard medicine.

I too have the problem of urine scent from time to time, it is stronger if I do not drink 8 8 oz bottles of water. Now I have a condition of kidney stones and that is where it started, I was not aware of this for several years after I stopped drinking alcoholic beverages, I had 2 surgeries last year and I may be going again soon, I notice the pain more and more and I hope you do not end up like this too. My advice to you is to drink more water, stay completely away from alcoholic beverages, caffinated drinks, and chocolate, yes I said chocolate, unfortunately until you know for sure, it is a good idea.
