Why do girls want eating disorders?

I don't understand how so many girls want to have a eating disorder do they honestly think its a joke?? Like its a serious issue and you can die. this is coming from experience its not fun its not a joke its a disorder that can kill you. If you want to...

be skinny eat healthy and go for a run don't be lazy and think you can solve your weight issues with a eating disorder

'you don't know them' ...that is a crap cop-out retort. However, legion DID forget to add (to the list):

low self esteem
extreme insecurity
distorted body image

Its very simple. Those girls who WANT eating disorders, are (see the compiled list). Those girls who HAVE eating disorders; aren't really doing it at their leisure...its a mental illness and they can't really control it without help.

I wasn't being nasty to those WITH eating disorders, just pointing out that girls that WANT an eating disorder need to be better educated, and really understand what it means to be in that physical/mental state...there's a difference. Read the question!!!

Anorexia nervosa is a problem. If you have a problem and you don't want to deal with it, then you are THE problem.

Because they see all these skinny girls on tv and they want to be just like them so they develope an eating disorder that develops mentally aswell.

1. They have a low self esteem
2. They want ATTENTION! thats why they post things like I want to be anorexic or how do you become anorexic. because they gets tons of attention for it, and they want someone to feel sorry for them
3. They have a mental disorder

see theres a difference between actually wanting an eatting disorder and having one.
people who have one didnt do it purposely.
for all the girls out there who want an eatting disorder, they simply want attention.
