why commercial on tv increase automatically the volume?

I don't know but it drives me nutz! I suppose it's advertisers way of grabbing our attention, but frankly, as far as I'm concerned, it works the opposite way. I hit the mute button or change the channel. :-)

That is very irritating - years ago I visited some studios in Hollywood where they showed us a man in a booth who's job was to monitor the volume to ensure it was the same as the program - evidently, that's changed !!

To get your attention probably. Its annoying though! All of a sudden Im sitting there peacfully and then BOOM! It is louder than crap! Lol. I just turn the channel! Haha, take that stupid people that are trying to break my ear drums! Lol. But yeah I think thats why.
