Why cant I install palm-os desktop on my pc?

I actually sorted out this problem whilst I was logged in here...
I installed an older version (v3.1 I think) and it seems to working fine

So now my q is do I stay with this version as its ok, or do I try to update to the latest version?

If an earlier version is working, and the latest version did not work on a standalone install, I wouldn't recommend updating, unless you save your computer a restore point. This way you can restore your system to the earlier time when the older version worked.
