why can you put your myspace addy on your profile, but not in a question?

1) it counts as commercial solicitation - we're NOT going to investigate every myspace profile to see if it's for a business or an individual
2) there is NO way we'll ever know who does & doesn't work for myspace.
3) There have been public reports of spyware via people's profiles on myspace, and we do NOT have that problem here, mainly because we dont' allow custom code on member profiles. So, it's a safety issue as well.
4) We will also never know if it's YOUR profile or somebody else's you're linking to.
5) You forgot, we also remove your myspace URL if you post it in an answer

Please let me know if you still think it's wrong after considering the above.

I personally believe that if MySpace links cant be used in questions then they shouldn't be used in profiles either. Doesn't make much sense to me because the link being in a persons profile can be just as bad as it being anywhere else. A link in the profile could ALSO be solicitation, could ALSO be a whole other person, could lead to a person that works for MySpace, etc.

Answer this Question: "Why can't you put a Myspace address in a question?"
