Who can be a reference for a first job application?

im about to apply for a job at McDonalds, my first job, and I have no clue who I can use as a reference?
any help as to what people I can put, I think I heard once that you cannot put family or close friends, but I really have no clue.
any advice appreciated.

A neighbor, a church person, a friend of the family, someone who knows your character and can relay your good qualities to a hiring company.

Sure, let's see; do you have any adult friends such as a teacher, doctor, neighbor who can say some things nice about you? Target those kinds of people. And let them know that you are going to put their names down on your applications as a reference, but ask them first. Good luck )

Yeah, go for teachers. I used my band teacher and my TAG teacher. just make sure they know, of course.
