...it isn't possible for all religions to be right.
...but it is possible for all of them to be wrong.
Knowing that, doesn't it make sense to reject all of them unless *one* can show itself to be true using the same standards of evidence and argument you employ in the rest of your life?
*ahem*
No religion is RIGHT, per se...
They all have strengths and weaknesses. They all have well thought ideals, as well as flaws and inconsistencies. They all have GOOD followers, as well as the deluded fanatics who can be described in no finer words than 'absolutely-batshit-crazy.'
But that doesn't mean one or more religions can't be right FOR YOU. It just depends on the individual.
People will ALWAYS argue that THEIR religion is the only right religion. But in the end, nobody can prove it, and no religion demands or promotes attempts to prove it. So I'm not really sure WHY they try so hard, when they never get anywhere with it anyway...
Besides, the universal rule of all religions, is for one to BELIEVE, not to PROVE.
I'm christian and I love it, I'm confident in my faith, its helped me through a lot of things. The way that we worship at my church is through MODERN music, you can sing, play guitar, bass, drums, sing along, dance, clap, or just watch. you can openly talk about your problems and recieve prayer and advice. its quite great actually and it feels flexible, not strict as sh!t
the right religion will come to you through careful study, of the religions that are out there- and who you are as a person. but definately make a choice based on what appears to be right to you.
my opinion is that if it is right, you will find your way there, without any promoting or window dressing or someone else telling you what the truth is.
be a great human being everyday (not perfect) and the right path will present itself.
if you believe in God and his son Jesus Christ and that he died for you and believe in his blodd can wash away all sin, then your good to go, it doesn matter if your baptist, catholic, jewish, etc., if you believe in what I said, then your on the right path, anythin other than that, then well its just wrong...what you are or so call religion has nothin to do wit it, religion doesn make your heart right with God, if ya believe in him, his sone, and the holy spirit, believe he died and rose again, and believe in his precious blood, then your right, domination has NOTHIN to do wit bein right
I agree with Toadaly - given that all religions have equal (lack of) evidence for them, why believe any of them?
The find the one that's right for you answers irritate me, too. This is not a feel-good test with no wrong answers. Either one of them is right or (more likely) none of them are. Surely you should choose what to believe based on what has the most probability of being right, not the one that you agree with most?
why even ask this question? because you know what two main answers will be,
Accept Jesus as savior(which I believe), or there is no God, you rule your own life. only you decide which one of those two, here's the way I look at it...
believe in God and Jesus, go to a place with no sickness, or pain, and live forever, or take a dirt nap for all eternity, which atheists believe(notice, it's a belief, so you don't know which one is right), and the Christian faith is so real to me, I don't how I'd survive w/o it. I mean, I probably would've gotten into drugs and sex and all kinds of bad things if it wasn't for that. but then people say, well, there are Christians that do those things, and I believe there are, but you know what, quitting an addiction is hard for anybody, not just non Christians. Christians probably have it worse because, when they do those things it hurts them, because they know they've hurt God. and they do what they don't want to do, and don't do what they are supposed to do, (from the Bible). so you choose.
believe in God and Jesus, go to a place with no sickness, or pain, and live forever, or take a dirt nap for all eternity, which atheists believe
No, atheism is a lack of belief. Atheism doesn't directly relate to life after death, though lack of belief in a god implies lack of belief in an afterlife.
Have a personal relationship with God...
How can we tell there is a god?
lack of belief in a god implies lack of belief in an afterlife
lmao, I beg to differ
I do not worship any deity I believe in an after life!
Do some research
Now getting back on topic,
you can't tell. One may be right, a few may be right, they all may be right, or they all could be wrong!
Ghost prove that there are a life after death, but for how long, what happens then?
You just never know.
good info baldwolf
thex13thxchild: Yes, I should have said usually implies lack of belief in an afterlife. I'd appreciate it if you stop telling anyone you disagree with to do some research.
_All_ religions can't be right, because many of them contradict each other.
Ghost prove that there are a life after death, but for how long, what happens then?
Ghosts don't prove anything, since there's no proof _they_ exist.
arachnid
I admit
It's been a long day
maybe I shouldn't of been
1, it's an expression
2 maybe there's different universes in which they're all right
this is only one universe out of a vase ocean of them, whose to say it's not possible?
as for there being no proof of ghost the you really are oblivious
***as for there being no proof of ghost the you really are oblivious***
You're taking the same stance that ALL people take to defend their beliefs. What may seem obvious to you, can appear as total bullshit to another.
As with religion, there is EVIDENCE that supports the idea that ghosts exist, but it doesn't PROVE they exist.
thex13thxchild: The idea of there being multiple universes is irrelevant: They can't all be right in _our_ universe, which is the only one that really matters to those living in it.
as for there being no proof of ghost the you really are oblivious
As soon as I see reliable, reproducible evidence of ghosts, I, along with thousands of other skeptics, will believe it. As it stands, despite the supposed prevalence of them, there's not a single testable fact or reproducible experiment that would show their existence.
