If you know of a company that you know operates in a ecological maner or sells products that protect the environment you can always invest directly.

There is a category of mutual funds called socially responsible or ethical funds. I have some of my retirement IRA in one such fund that promises to only invest in companies who improve Americans quality of life through protecting the environment, our health and occupational and consumer safety.
