ok I am wiccan, I have many of the books you talked about as well, and I know exactly what you mean. If you ever need advice feel free to fun mail me, I can answer any questions you have. as for learning with a teacher, there are sites that have lessons (with quizes and everything) so it helps a little becuase atleast you know what to study first, then how to continue on the path etc, this particular site helped me a lot: http://www.magickaschool.com
also, I would advise finding social networks, where wiccans get together online and share knowledge, the one im on is http://www.covenspace.com, if you do join up (its like myspace and facebook) then feel free to send me a friend request
im Gaia3 on there too. hope I helped

wicca is a piece of s.hit and so is anyone you follows it nuff said
hm...well I never had a problem with silver ravenwolf. especiallt the solitary witch book its mostly a very useful encyclopedia so if I were you id keep it. id research what other wiccans had to say as well, just to get a full idea, not just from one author. but that book in particular is a good one from my experience
***spiritual journey begins by helping others and the help should be only for GOD. Then pray for the right path, And then go into books it may be BIBLE OR QU'RAN it will take you in a right way and you will enjoy your life and others in this world and GOD heaven***
These are the people that you don't want to be all buddy buddy with if you are wiccan. These people are ignorant and bible pushers. The maturity levels of these people are about 7 years behind of their actually age.
Go to http://www.magickaschool.com. It helps a lot and its free.

I have a few book, such as:
-The Wicca Bible by Ann-Marie Gallagher
-The Wicca Handbook by Eileen Holland
-To Ride A Silver Broomstick by Silver Ravenwolf
-The Ultimate Book of Shadows: Solitary Witch by Silver Ravenwolf
The Ultimate Book of...
Shadows: Solitary Witch, seems very hard to understand without some basics; so I was told by a friend to start with The Wicca Bible...
There's just one problem, yes reading is very informant, but I learn well with someone to teach me or at least give much advice. So if there is someone who could help often without being rude, that would be great...
