I've used this pattern before on formal dresses and I've managed to cut out the pattern and get it stitched up in a little under 4 hours. If you did this, you could go for just plain fabric for the dress, and then find a nice bridal iron-on transfer, or some iron on diamantes to do detailing with. If you're really feeling creative, you can sew some beads onto the gown.
