It's a form of leet 1337. Leet was used by a group of in-famous hackers that used that language to communicate through the internet without people figuring out what they are saying.

well some people have to do it unless they want to always copy and paste copy and paste over and over again...such as myself I have to because that button broke but funadvice turned off my account so now it takes so much longer to type an answer/question!!! and they were like ya it shouldnt take you much longer! haha wrong!!!
