Maybe you need to sit down with your parents and have a a heart to heart. Just be honest and explain to them that you love them to death and respect them profoundly but that they are suffocating you. Tell them that you just need some room to breather and recognition for what you do get right. Tell them exactly how you feel, that's what growing up is about, learning to communicate and stand up for oneself. I'm sure they don't realize what they are doing and even though you are 18 they probably only see their little girl. Help them understand that you will always be their daughter but that you are now a young woman, no more a little girl.
