They are two different political perspectives entirely. Libertarians believe in minimal government, while liberals are better termed as 'all intrusive dictatorial socialists' by todays vernacular. If it's any consolation, 'conservative' also means 'all intrusive dictatorial socialist' by todays vernacular.

Well, I'm quite Liberal and I despise libertariansim. They seem very different to me. The former, for me, is about how to help the greatest number of people to the greatest good. The latter seems to me about individuals helping themselves to whatever they fancy, with almost no restrictions. Freedom for all, or freedom for 'ME'!

B/w liberalism libertarianism? I know they both believe in freedom.
