What's the best way to find out if someone is gay?

I am gay and was wondering if anyone knew how to find out if a person is gay?

I don't think there's any real way to find out if someone is gay (like "gaydar" other than straight out asking them. You could always assume one way or the other but people can be very decieving in how they act and it's not really safe when you're aiming to be 100% to just go by what you see in a person. But I would say just be polite about it and ask.

It's not something you wear on your sleeve so it is difficult to know. This can be an uncomfortable situation if a gay person has interest in someone and does not know if the other person is gay. Usually if you have friends in common someone knows and will say. Asking the person may offend if they don't know you very well. So getting to know someone is important before asking them personal questions.

Most gay people can tell if they are gay or not. But then again they can be wrong. Usually a big sign is gay people act gay in general.
