Excersize may actually make the cold worse.
The best thing I can think of,Is drinking a lot of fluids,Mostly water,and orange juice,or someting with lots of Vitamin C.
Vitamin C works with your immune system to help fight off infection,so things like Oranges,and Lettuce may help a lot.
Sleep is also good,lack of sleep can make your symptoms worse.
If your not feeling better within a week or so,or your symptoms worsen,You may want to consult a doctor.
