What should i wear to a halloween dance?

next week is our high skools halloween dance and I have no idea what to dress up as its supposed to be a mascarade halloween dance but I dont want to wear a mask so that option is out for me! im not real preppy, but then im not a total tomboy either but...

I just dont know what to wear, I was thinking something like going there like totally EMO! you know dieing my hair black, black clothes, black makeup, im already deathly pale so that ones easy! but if I dress like that I'll stick out bad, so if anyone else has some costume ideas I would appreciate it! tnks

For the halloween idea, you could go as a cat and like have a cute little cat mask thing that just goes over your eyes.
