What kind of dog do I have?

I am trying to figure out what kind of "mutt" I have. I know from the humane society that he is partly airdale terrier. He has a bushy tail, almost has a lion's mane around his front area, shorter softer hair from midpoint back, a goatee, long eyelashes and what almost appears to be a moustache.
The one thing I do know about him is that he has to smell everything, all the time.
Anyone got any idea?

What a DOLL!!! His Airdale blood really shows...maybe he has a tad of Golden Retreiver (the soft golden coat on his back; and all the sniffing)...or even Golden Lab (his color...and all that sniffin')...Hounds and hunting dogs...the worlds greatest "sniffers"...LOL

That is a very good looking dog! I am not sure from the picture what he is but the Shelter would know best.
