What is the best breed of dog?

what is the best breed of dog that will come back when I call his/her name off lead?
And which breed would be the best companion, (one that I could controll, and it would listen to me)?

You're looking for a companion.. so I reccommend a low-level energy dog.. by that I mean the amount of exercite they need... and you probably don't want a strong dog... because when they are agressive they can do more damage... so...

I reccommend a dog along the lines of a labrador or a golden retriever ... all dogs will be able to do basic obedience though =P.

But... the most important thing is... not the breed... but the individual dog... you need to be able to pick out the dog that has a low-energy level and who is calm-submissive.. and to do that you need to know how so I reccommend reading Cesar Millan's books.

As long as you exercise the dog every day.. and you are the pack leader, a lot of breeds will be good for you.

Maybe do some research on some breeds that have the traits that you are looking for.
