Simply the middle point. So if you are testing a result you take the results 1/2 way through.

That's the median if I'm not mistaken. If you're talking about mathematical data, the mean is all of them added up and divided by the amount of numbers there are.

I stand corrected:
Calculating the mean
The mean of a numeric variable is calculated by adding the values of all observations in a data set and then dividing that sum by the number of observations in the set. This provides the average value of all the data.

Mean = sum of all the observation values ÷ number of observations
